On Saturday, June 5th 2021, Eastern Washington Expeditions members did some Columbia River sightseeing (Click for report) and then ran through the Douglas Creek Area (Click for report).
We headed south from Wenatchee on Malaga Rd which turned into Colockum Road. We aired down at the WDFW sign and then headed up over the Colockum Pass. Up on top of Naneum Ridge there was a light rain with snow mixed in it.We saw some elk and a lot of cows. The sun was starting to go down so we turned off Colockum Road at Powerline Road at headed toward Brushy Road. We found a camping spot in the trees hoping it would slow the wind. Once we got camp set up, we had Super Sauce Chicken for dinner from the EWE Chuckwagon. It was cold that night.
Sunday morning we woke up to the cold. We all sat around the propane campfire as the coffee was brewing. The EWE Chuckwagon Breakfast was eggs, potatoes, and Jalapeno cheese bratwurst. So good!
Once camp was broke down, we headed down Brushy Road, turned on Beacon Road, and dropped down Parke Creek. We aired up at headed back through Kittitas and worked our way back to the Yakima River Canyon to go home.
We put over 340 miles on the Jeeps on this trip. It was a lot of fun.
