Around 10:00 AM Saturday December 2021 the group convoyed from the Graham Family Farm in Selah to Fred Meyer in Yakima. We had to pick up an air fryer since TJ40 forgot his at home and we needed to cook fries to go with the bratwurst lunch. Next we convoyed to FS1701 off SR410 and aired down.
After airing down we headed up FS1701. Not far up we found snow. As we past the Hog Ranch turn-off on FS1701 the snow got deeper. We drove up to 4W670 and turn off to set up a day camp for the kids to sled and to cook lunch.
We unloaded the Jeeps and set up for cooking. Lucky we bought the Air fryer. We found out we forgot to load the bratwurst into the Jeep. We just had fries and Hot Cocoa for lunch.
As the kids sled and we cooked lunch, a lot of side by sides and quad past through. It was fun watching them take many runs at the snow covered 4W670 hill climb. After we packed up, Doc tried to make it up the hill with his Dixie Jeep YJ. After not making it, he back down onto a big rock he got stuck on. Doc had to winch up and off the rock. Charlie tried the climb in his ZJ and did not make it. Charlie came back down and then got stuck. Doc used his Dixie Jeep to pull Charlie’s ZJ out.
Next we headed on up FS1701 and then up 4W694. Doc need a pull from TJ40 to get up the first climb. We ran 4W697 to 4W670 and back down to FS1701. We ran FS1701, down FS1720, and out FS1702. We aired back up near SR410 and headed back to Graham Family Farm for dinner.
