Around 10:00 AM Saturday January 1st 2022 we convoyed with two Jeeps from the Graham Family Farm in Selah to the Sheep Company Road entrance of the Wenas Wildlife Area and aired down.
After airing down we headed up Durr Road and then over to the Umtanum Ridge towers. The view was great. Mount Rainier and the Steward Mountain Range were lite up with sunshine.
Next we head northwest on Umtanum Ridge to the end. Along the way we found a few challenging areas of deep snow. Over all it was pretty easy going. At the northwest end of the top of Umtanum Ridge we stopped for lunch.
After lunch we dropped down to McCabe Road and stopped to see the Eagles in the trees. As we were there, a herd of Elk came through.
We drove to the end of McCabe and then back tracked to head down to North Wenas Road. Once we hit the pavement we did not bother to air up since the road was covered with snow most of the way back to Graham Family Farm.
