Selah Cub Scout Pack 276
Umtanum Creek Hike
Report & photos by Clay Graham / Selah Adventures – A division of Eastern Washington Adventures.
On the Sunday April 6th, 2014 Selah Cub Scout Pack 276 headed up the Yakima River Canyon and met up at Umtanum Recreation Area to do a hike up Umtanum Creek Canyon.
Deborah Essman from the Kittitas County Field and Stream Club came to guide the Cub Scouts up the trail and teach them about all the cool things the Umtanum Creek Canyon has.
On the way up the trail there was a few different birds, Big Horn Sheep, wildflowers, old apple trees, cactus, and a lot of other different plants. Where we turned around there was a beaver dam.
After the hike some people stayed for a picnic.
This was a very fun thanks to all who came. A special thanks go out to Deborah Essman for coming and teaching the group about all the cool things in the Umtanum Creek Canyon.
