On the afternoon of Friday November 7th, 2014, Eastern Washington Adventures Club Members met up at Beverly Dunes and set up camp for the annual clean up.
The night was very cold. We woke up to frost but it still was a very nice morning.
The DNR staff showed up early to greet the volunteers for the Beverly Dunes Clean Up as they signed in. There were individuals and volunteers from groups. Some of the groups that help were: Eastern Washington Adventures, Selah Cub Scout Pack 276 and the biggest group was the Wenatchee Mountain Masters.
We worked on a plan and all headed out around 10 AM. Volunteers cleaned campfire pits, picked up trash within the campgrounds and picked up trash in the sand dune ORV riding area. By the early evening the area looked a lot better than when the volunteers started.
There was a potluck dinner around the campfire for volunteers in the evening.
Sunday most left early for home. Two Jeeps headed down the Columbia River to Saddle Mountains to play in the big sand dunes. Click for report!
Over all this weekend event was a fun, thanks to all who came.
