Saturday Jeep Ride
With the Eastern Washington Off Road Staff
Report & photos by Clay Graham / CegPics.com
On Saturday November 20 2021 we took a Jeep ride out to Tampico to pick up Alice Jeep’s 32″ spare at Hank’s place. On the way we stopped and watch fog roll over Ahtanum Ridge into the Yakima Valley.
We picked up the spare in Tampico and then headed up the North Fork Ahtanum Road. The road had patches of snow and ice on the way to the end of pavement. We stopped to see a little deer walking close to the road. By the time I got the window down and the camera out the deer started walking off. We stopped at Red Saddle Trailhead to let Shelby our Black Lab out for a drive from the Mid Fork Ahtanum Creek.
On the way back out we stopped to get a Jeep photo with the Ahtanum State Forest sign. Back down close to Tampico we stopped to see a herd of elk eating grass out front of a house. We have seen them there many trips up to the Ahtanum.
Here are some photos of the Jeep trip:
