Pacific Northwest 4 Wheel Drive Association’s 2011 Trail Jamboree – Day 3 of 5
Report and photos by Clay Graham / Eastern Washington Adventures
On Day 3 (Friday July 8th, 2011) I met up with the Shindig Wheeler for their hosted 4×4 run to Funny Rocks. They set me up with Terry to ride in his CJ7.
Around 9 AM we headed out. We took the FS1701 up toward Bald Mountain. Near Bald Mountain before hitting the trail we had a driver’s meeting. One the driver’s meeting was over we ran the trail to Funny Rocks. At Funny Rocks people took turns climbing the rocks with their rigs. One XJ broke a rear axle and had to do the rest of run in front wheel drive. We moved over to Moon Rocks and played there some before heading back to Jim Sprick Park.
In the late afternoon there were some games for the kids by Region 4 Junior Jeepers and a car wash by the Nile Fire Department.
Friday night’s dinner was bought to you by the Spanaway Moonshiners.
That night the big donated raffle give-a-ways and 50/50 drawing happened. One fundraiser raffle was to raise money for the Light Sabre Project that 4 Wheel Parts sponsors and matches donations. They send lights to service rigs in Afghanistan. The 50/50 was half to winner and half to PNW4WDA Trail Maintenance fund.

Up at the top they unhooked the broken XJ and he drove out from there.
