2015 Selah Beginner Triathlon
Report by Amanda Graham, photos by Clay Graham / Selah Sweets – Selah Adventures
Saturday July 18th, 2015 was the 3rd Annual “Selah Beginner Triathlon” hosted this year by Selah Downtown Association. The Selah Sweets/Selah Adventures staff ran the event again with the help of Selah Cub Scout Pack 276.
The event started out at 8 AM at the Selah Pool in Wixson Park where athletes had to swim 11 times across the pool equaling a 1/4 mile swim.
Next was a bike ride from the Wixson Park to River Ridge Golf Course and back. This was a 3 mile route which most did twice to get the complete 6 miles in.
The last part was a 3 mile walk/run from Wixson Park up to North 4th Street off of West Goodlander Road and then back to Wixson Park.
Everyone who came out to enjoy this event has some fun. Some people were returning from the previous years and others were doing this for their first time. We hope that next year many more can come out and enjoy this event with us and others.
This event went great thanks to our sponsors and volunteers:
Selah Sweets supplied ice water for the athletes at River Ridge golf course and at Wixson Park. Selah Cub Scout Pack 276 and their families helped with the set up and check points.
