Ahtanum State Forest Green Dot Work Party Part 2 of 2
Report and photos by Clay Graham / Eastern Washington Adventures

The next morning we headed up Sedge Ridge to do some trail Maintenance.
We ran A-2400 up and turned onto A-2420.

At the top of A-2420 we found a mark was missing so we added a new one.

We next ran the Sedge Ridge Crest Trail toward Tampico.
Not far plast the Boulder Trail we found two big trees had fallen across the Sedge Ridge Crest Trail.

I cut the first tree and Guido pulled it into the by-pass with his TJ.

This second Tree was bigger.

Again I cut the tree and Guido tried to pull the tree into the by-pass.

Here I am getting a different hold on the tree for Guido. (I do not know what my daughter did to the camera when she took this)

Here we got the two trees moved off the trail.

We ran the trail to the end to make sure nothing else needed to be done.
Here comes Guido.

We ran the Sedge Ridge Crest Trail on past Red Saddle and up the rocky climb.
I wasn’t sure how the Sami would do but 99 drove it right on up.

Where South Fork Ahtanum Road and the Sedge Ridge Crest Trail meet there were some markers missing.
People on quads were stopped there for a break so we keep going on up the trail.

Right at the top of the Double hill climb the trail was covered with snow. The snow drift was to off camber for me to stay on the trail.
I kept sliding down into stumps. I had to turn around.
The Green Dot markers at the Cultus Hole intersection will have to wait.

Regrouping.

We ran back down to the South Fork Road / Sedge Ridge Crest Trail intersection.
The quad riders had moved on. We found one marker was broken and the other two were missing.

Next we ran down the South Fork. We picked up a lot of beer cans along the way.

At the Red Saddle Road we replaced a painted Green Dot Marker with a new one.

We found the old A-1400 marker fell off the post.

We fixed it with what we had.

We ran on down A-2400 toward the Sno-park.
Near the bottom if the ridge we found someone had drove on top of a Green Dot Marker we just put in two weeks before.
The Green Dot Marker is now broken.

Now back towards camp.

We packed up camp and sit around resting before heading home to the heat.
Here are two pictures during that time.

Here is the Mid fork Ahtanum Creek running behind our camp.
