Do The Dew Run Part II

On Saturday July 8th, 2006 Roll Over, Flippy, Tiny, Test Dummy and I (Ceg) headed toward the Ahtanum State Forest for part two of the “Do The Dew Run”. I hauled the 5 quads on my trailer.
We stopped to pick up Roll Over and his Dad’s quad and then at Tampico Store on the way up.
We unloaded near Nasty Creek Corals and rode down the service roads to Louie Way Gap and took a short break.
As we sat there we heard a group of rigs coming up 4W608. I am guessing they were the Wandering Willys Jeep Club since some of the rigs had that logo. The lead rig was a YJ driven by a female with a Crash Dummy riding shot gun. The lady told us she was testing out her new 8.8 and asked us asked us what was up 4W613. I told her and she decided to turn the group around and head back down to Rimrock.
We headed up 613 toward Strobach Mountain. The first climb out of Louie Way Gap is a steep power climb.
The next real steep part has a lot of big rocks on the trail. Tiny, Test Dummy and I had some problem on this part. I came close to rolling because of too much weight in my rear box.
We stopped at the first view point. You could see Long Lake below. Looking across you had a great view of Rimrock Lake with Mount Rainier in the background.
As soon as we left the view point we came up on the off camber part of 4W613. We use to go under a tree with roll bar paint on it but someone cut it down taking away from the 4W613 experience.
Back into more off camber stuff. Just add some snow and mud and it becomes real fun. I had to winch up the trail. Flippy and Tiny both could not get up the trail either because of the mud. Winch time for them too!
We stopped for some more views off of Divide Ridge and then turned down the Strobach Mountain 4×4 Trail. We then turned down Nasty Creek Road and ran it back to my tow rig parked near Nasty Creek Corals.
This was a great quad run.
