On Friday May 12th, 2006, the All Wheelers Off Road Club members met up at the Ahtanum Sno-park to camp for Mother’s Day weekend and to hit the ORV Trails.

On Saturday we hit the ORV Trails on Sedge Ridge. We ran up to Red Saddle and then onto the Sedge Ridge 4×4 Trail. The snow was deep in the shaded areas and I got stuck. Test Dummy hooked up to pull me out. Well that didn’t work to well because I was stuck good. Tiny had to hook his XJ up to Test Dummy’s XJ to get my XJ out. I got out and turned around, we ran the Sedge Ridge 4×4 Trail back to Red Saddle. We took A2400 over to the South Fork A1000 at ran it up until the snow got to deep and to soft to go any father. We meet a group of quads that couldn’t make it though. That is when we headed back to Red Saddle headed down the Sedge Ridge Ridge Road toward Tampico. At the end of the ridge we took in the views. You could see Pine Mountain Fire Lookout Tower across the way.

Next we run up to Tree Phones and wheeled in the snow as far as we could go. Next we headed down the Mid Fork and then ran the McLain Canyon Road to the Whites Ridge 4×4 Trail. We ran Whites Ridge 4×4 Trail up only a little ways because the snow got deep fast. We turned around and ran the Whites Ridge 4×4 Trail all the way down to the Mid Fork and then went back to camp for the night.

Sunday morning after breakfast we headed up the North Fork to just past Snow Cabin Camp Ground. The snow was real deep on one side and it was pushing us off the road into the ditch because of the slant. To Tread Lightly we turned around so we would tear up the road. We got turned around and then ran the North Fork down to the McLain Canyon Road. We almost made it it the top of Whites Ridge from the north side, but the snow got to soft to continue. I think this was the last switch-back on the McLain Canyon Road before you get to the top of Whites Ridge. We turned around again and headed down to the paved road and then ran Jackass Rd until the snow got deep on Foundation Ridge. We went back to the Sno-park and loaded up for home. This was a great run with a lot of fun in the snow and sun.
