Year Ends 4×4 Snow Run – Day 2 of 2
Hosted by Eastern Washington Off Road.
Report by Clay Graham. Photos by Clay Graham / Eastern Washington Off Road
On December 30th, 2007 Eastern Washington Off Road met up in Cowiche at the parking area at the end of the pavement on Cowiche Mill Road to air down. I lead us up onto Cowiche Ridge. Most of our tracks from the day before were gone. I took Tail Gunner before the first big snowdrift since I was in a low rider.
We made it to the place the snow stopped us the day before. The guys tried to push on farther, but no luck, all three stuck. I pulled 2 rigs out with the Tweety Jeep.
As I headed back down the trail, Icesis tried to make his own line and got stuck. Once we were all going things got real fun. In the open we had fun passing each other. Sometimes we couldn’t see from the snow coming blowing onto the hood. We stopped for a break before dropping off the ridge. P309’s CJ was covered with snow.
Down at the gravel pit P309 broke his clutch linkage playing. Icesis winch him up. P309 headed to the trailer with most of the group. Icesis and I ran up to see how the snow was on the road up to Hatton from Cowiche Mill Road. Icesis ran into a big snow drift. Icesis backed up and was able to plow through the snowdrift. He stopped on top of the climb to ask us where the trail was since there was no sign of it. I took the lead breaking trail. Some how Icesis backed up over a stump so used my rig as a tow point and winch off of it. It was getting late so we headed on out.
Thanks to all that came for the fun time.
