French Canyon Jeep Run

August 8th, 2006 we did a Jeep run up French Canyon. Waycrazy and I (Ceg) headed out from Waycrazy’s house in Tieton to French Canyon. It was just down the road from his place. The trail started right after the Reservoir. We had to open and closes a few gates a long the way. We had to cross the dry creek a few times. The first place we found water, we stopped so Waycrazy’s dog could get a drink.
Farther on up, the trail ran a dry creek for a little ways. The trail climbed out of the creek and started climbing. We found a Y and took the took the high trail which put us on top of the ridges with a lot less trees.
Up on top the views were great. AS we climbed we could see the towns of Tieton and Cowiche, Jump Off and Pine Mountain Lookouts, Sedge Ridge, Mount Rainier, Mount Adams, Bethel Ridge, Manastash Ridge and many other land marks.
On up the trail we stopped before turning off onto FS1302-641 to look down at US12 and the Tieton River.
We turned down FS1302-641 and ran it down to Hatton Road. We came up on an old cabin and stopped to look at it. My wife always wanted a cabin. 🙂
It was a long drive down Hatton Road. There were not many trees.
