Seahawk Spectacular
Report & photos by Charlie Graham / Selah Adventures – Selah Community & Tourism.
This story is not about Selah, but about a fundraising event in our neighboring city of Yakima. The story and photos are from 11 year old Charlie Graham. He was at the event helping his mother at the family’s business booth, Selah Sweets. Selah Sweets is now the main part of our company that funds the SelahAdventures.com web site along with our Selah Community & Visitors Center located in the back of our Selah Sweets store in downtown Selah.
On Saturday October 17th, 2015 the Yakima Co-op had a Seahawk Spectacular event. The event proceeds went to People for People’s Meals on wheels for pets.
At the Yakima Co-op event there were other local business and support like; 92.9 The Bull, C is for Cupcake, City Chickens, Beast Mode Kettle Korn, Central Washington Antique Farm Equipment, Selah Sweets, Seahawk Vehicles, Yakima Implement Tractors, Meals on Wheels for Pets, Yakima Valley Audubon and more.
There was a water trough filled with chicken feed for the children to play in, a face painting booth, birdhouse painting and inflatable ticket vault.
Yakima Valley Rabbit Breeding had some rabbits there to look at.
There were a lot of fans lining up for a photo with Blitz the Seahawk and the “Sea Gals” Seattle Seahawks cheer leaders, Sonrose and Melanie.
The Yakima Co-op was raffling off two Seahawks tickets to an up coming game between the Forty-Niners and Seahawks.
This was a great event.
