Rimrock Christmas Tree Backroads Run
Report and photos by Clay Graham / Eastern Washington Adventures
About 10 AM on Saturday December 1st, 2012 we met up at Oak Creek Ace Hardware for the annual Eastern Washington Adventures Christmas Tree Backroads Run with Pacific Northwest Backroads Adventures.
We convoyed west on US12, turned off on Tieton Road and then drove on FS1201 to the end.
We spread out looking for the right Christmas Tree to cut down and take home. My wife and kids cut one they liked and we loaded it up on the JK.
We decided to move onto a different area so others could find a Christmas Tree that liked. Brian and Robert took off to do some stuff up on SR410. We moved on with Fox17 over to Long Lake.
At Long Lake Fox17 looked for a Christmas Tree and my children played in the ice and snow. Once Fox17 had his Christmas Tree and tied down on his ZJ, we headed out.
This was a very fun day thanks to all who came.
Here are some pictures I took of the day:
At the Upper 4W608 Trailhead looking for Christmas Trees.
My wife and kids cut this Christmas Tree down to take home.
There was no place on the outside to tie the tree on so was ran the strap in side.
Over at Long Lake.
I almost forgot to display my Christmas Tree permit.
Fox17 bring hauling out his Christmas Tree.
The Christmas Trees tied down with the permits attached.
Heading down FS1201, Kloochman Rock looks like the place the Grinch lives.
At home in Selah with our Christmas Tree.
The Christmas Tree at home ready for gifts. Like 35″ KM2s for the JK. LOL!
Merry Christmas!
