Selah Cub Scout Pack 276 is co-hosting an educational event with the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) on Sunday April 17th, 2016 at the Ahtanum State Forest.

Come see Smokey Bear, learn about wildfire prevention, and do some community service they helps keep the area open to the public.

Everyone is welcome!

Join DNR staff, other volunteers, and Smokey Bear to learn about wildfire awareness and care for DNR’s Ahtanum Campground. Volunteers will be cleaning fire pits and doing general maintenance at the campground, as well as learning tips for extinguishing a campfire. Families, youth groups, and children welcome, but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.  – Click for official page!

Wildfire Awareness Day & Campground Clean Up

Wildfire Awareness Day & Campground Clean Up: April 17, 2016 1:00pm-4:00pm

  • Co-sponsored by Selah Cub Scout Pack #276
  • Meet Smokey Bear and learn about wildfire prevention before the campground work.
  • In preparation for the start of the new recreation season, we will be cleaning out fire pits and picking up litter at the Ahtanum Campground. Families and children are welcome, but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  • Please bring water, snacks, gloves, boots and dress for working in inclement weather.
  • This event is Discover Pass Voucher eligible.
  • Meet at Whites Ridge Trailhead (just past the Ahtanum Guard Station) to check in at 1:00pm.

Directions
Meet at the Whites Ridge Trailhead. Exit I-82 to Valley Mall Boulevard.  Left on Longfiber Road. Right onto Ahtanum for 13 miles.  Turn right onto North Fork Road at the Tampico Store. Proceed 10 miles to the Middle Fork Road. Whites Ridge Trailhead is on the left past the guard station. Click for official page!
