Wildfire Awareness Day
at the Ahtanum State Forest
Hosted by Boy Scouts of American (Grand Columbia Council, Skookum District),
Selah Sweets, and the Department of Natural Resources.
Report and photos by Clay Graham / CegPics.com.
At noon on Saturday April 8th, 2017, we met up at Whites Ridge Trailhead in the Ahtanum State Forest for Wildfire Awareness with the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR).
The DNR staff talked about wildfires, the hard work to put them out, the equipment they use and how to help prevent wildfires. The volunteers were able to see and feel what the fire crew uses to put the wildfires out.
This was a very fun and educational event. Thank you to all the volunteers, DNR staff and Smokey Bear.
