On Saturday May 21st 2022 we had our 8th Annual Go Play Topless day. We had skipped a few years due to scheduling issues.
Around 10 AM the group headed out for the trip with three Jeeps. We convoyed through the Yakima River Canyon to Ellensburg and then took Umtanum Road to the Ellensburg Pass where we aired down. The weather wasn’t to bad but a little cold under the clouds that came over hear and there.
After airing down we continued up Ellensburg Pass. As we headed over Ellensburg Pass to North Wenas Road, the weather turned bad. It started off with a sprinkle of rain, then rain, and the heavy rain and hail. We decided to skip Hanson Pond Road and get out of the bad weather.
We hit the pavement of North Wenas Road and the rain and ice came down harder. We skipped going up McCabe Road and drove out of the rain near Wenas Lake. We turned on Hesster Flats Road and headed up the Umtanum Ridge from there. As we climbed up the Umtanum Ridge the rain got harder. We ran the ridge past the towers and ran Durr Road out. At Sheep Company Road we parted ways with our guest. TJ40, Doc and I were cold and wet. We skipped airing back up until we got back to the EWE Club House.
Thank you to all who came. Hopefully the 9th Annual Go Play Topless event will be drier.
