On Sunday May 1st, 2022 we took a drive though the Wenas Area. We drove to Cascade Camp and let Shelby (the dog) run some. I took some photos along the way to share with friends how to get there for the Eastern Washington Expeditions events.

Eastern Washington Expeditions
Naneum 4×4 Snow Wheeling Trip
Hosted by Eastern Washington Off Road
Report & photos by Clay Graham / CegPics.com.

On Saturday April 30th 2022 Eastern Washington Expeditions Club members met up in Kittitas and convoyed to the Naneum Ridge State Forest to play in the snow. On this trip we had 4 Jeeps, 1 TJ, 1 WJ, 1 XJ, and 1 YJ.

We aired down at the Coleman entrance of the Naneum Ridge State Forest and ran Dawson Road up. We hit snow right after turning up Coleman Road. No one had been up it yet on this day. We stopped on top of the first snow hill climb for a break.

Moving on up, the old tire tracks stopped on Swift Road and I had to break trail with the little 30×9.50 KO2s on the YJ. The YJ did well. The Spartan Locker works great.

On Swift Road just before Naneum Ridge Road I found some real soft snow and got stuck. Kevin gave me a pull and took the lead.

Moving up Naneum Ridge Road the snow drifts got bigger. We found a lot of soft spots where the Jeeps would just sink and get stuck. We had fun help each other through.

We ran into a big drift and it was getting late in the day so we turned around. We were around 6672′ and within 500 feet of the towers on Wenatchee Mountain. It took near an hour to turn all the rigs around.

Heading back down we made room for Kevin to get back out front since he has front and rear lockers. We knew we were going to get stuck in some of the same spots we did coming up. And we did in a few spots. I forgot to take photos of those spots but took a few random photos as we came back down.

We took Coleman Road down. Once out of the snow we stopped to add some air to Kevin’s TJ. We all aired up completely back at the Naneum Ridge State Forest sign where we had aired down. This was a great trip.
