GENERAL INFO:
Eastern Washington Off Road is hosting a “Northern Cle Elum Ranger District 4×4 Overland Trip” for Eastern Washington Expeditions to explore the Washington Backcountry Discovery Route (WABDR) Section 3, Liberty 4×4 Trails, and Gallagher Head Lake Area. We will camp on the trail for 3 nights. This event is free but there are a limited number of rig spots available. So it is on a first-sign up basis after Club Members.
THE SCHEDULE:
- Monday July 11 we will meet in Ellensburg at 10 AM with full tanks of fuel. We will convoy the to the south side of Liberty and air down. We will spend the day on the Liberty Trails. We will make a loop back up and camp near Lion Rock.
- Tuesday we will hit the trails through WABDR Section 3 and fueling up in Wenatchee or Cashmere. We will find a camp near Liberty for the night.
- Wednesday we will air up and convoy to Cle Elum to fuel up. Then head 4W301 to Gallagher Lake to camp the night.
- Thursday we may hit some other trails (4W304 Hawkin Mt., Van Epps 4W302) before heading home.
FEES:
This a Free to attend event. You will need to bring your own rig, gear, and food. You will need money for fuel and some cash if we camp in a pay area. A Discover Pass maybe required at some stops.
REQUIREMENTS: You must have a working Street licensed 4 wheel drive to do this trip. Smaller rigs are suggested due to 4×4 trails may be tight. Please have a full tank of fuel, recovery gear, and cold weather gear. We are spending three nights on the trail so you will need to bring a tent, food, and supplies. Bring plenty of water and things you need to be safe from the sun. (A Discover Pass maybe required.)
NOTE: By signing up you are expected to follow the rules of the land and Tread Lightly. The roads/Trails can get soft this time of year. Spinning your tires intentionally on wet surfaces causes damage and is illegal. These actions have caused closures.

FUEL: Please have a full tank of fuel to start with in Ellensburg. We will top off in Cle Elum on Wednesday on the way to Gallagher Head Lake.
CAMPING: Bring what you would need to camp in the mountains. It could be very hot or cold in the day and cold at night.
FOOD: Bring enough food for 4 days and three nights. On this trip we may have the time to cook lunch for those who what to.
