Naches Sportsmans’ Days
By Clay Graham / CegPics.com
Friday September 6th, 2019, we set up the Selah Sweets Food Truck booth at the Historic Naches Train Depot for Naches Sportsmans’ Days.
The Naches Sportmans’ Day event kicked off on Friday night at 5 PM when the Midway opened. There was live music and a lot of other fun things going on. The event ran until 10 PM that night.
Saturday we headed to the parade sign in area so our son Odo could check in to be the color guard for the Grand Parade. We left Odo at the staging area and downtown Naches to watch the parade. There was a Kids Parade and then the Grand Parade. At noon was the Grand Opening Ceremony with the presentation of Colors and the Midway opened. In the afternoon there was a Fishing Derby for all the fishermen between the ages of 4-12 years old. There was fun throughout the day into the night!
Sportsmans’ Days provides a great time of community fellowship and fun which draws in visitors to Naches from around Central Washington.
Sportsman’s Days is one of the longest running community day events in the Yakima Valley. The event features free entertainment throughout the weekend along with a midway, rides, food booths, game booths, silent auction, button drawings, free shows and much more.

2019 Packwood
Labor Day Weekend Flea Market
By Clay Graham / CegPics.com
On Wednesday, August 28th through Monday September 2nd, 2019, we had a booth for the Selah Sweets Food Truck set up at the Packwood Timberland Library for the Packwood Labor Day Weekend Flea Market.
We brought over the F350 with the camper full of supplies pulling a utility trailer with a big freezer of ice and barque.
Wednesday night it started raining on and off until Thursday late afternoon. It was nice the rest of the time.
Bratwurst sold well this time. We had to order more from Jahr’s European Sausage. We got lucky they had family coming from Selah through Packwood that could drop more off. We sold out of those brats Saturday night at 9 PM.
Sunday evening we spent sometime across the road at the Packwood Brewing Company.
Here are some photos of our time at the Packwood Flea Market:

Wild Winger
Hosted by Eastern Washington Expeditions

On Friday, August 23rd 2019 the Liberty State Overland Club headed up to the Lost Meadow Campground in the Little Naches area to set up camp for the weekend.
Saturday morning after breakfast, we headed up to Raven Roost with 3 rigs. The view there was not as we hoped due to clouds covered Mount Rainier. We had lunch and then headed down FS1902. They have done a lot of forest thinning along that road.
We stopped back at camp for a short break and then headed over Pyramid Pass to the west end of the Naches Pass 4×4 Trail. We walked down to see the Naches Cliffs to show the kids some history. It was a lot of fun for them.
Once we hiked back up to the rigs, we headed back to camp for an awesome taco potluck.
After dinner the kids told scary stories around the propane campfire. It rained a little but that did not stop the fun.
Sunday everyone cleaned up camp and headed home.
This was a great get away.
