On Saturday, June 22nd 2019 we set up the Selah Sweets Food Truck up in Downtown Tieton to serve shaved ice for the annual Grand Prix.

The weather was great. Many people from all over came out for the fun.

Make way for hand-crafted cyclekarts racing and parading around Tieton. The races go from 10am – 2pm and are best viewed from the Tieton City Park. Parking is available at the Mighty Tieton Warehouse at 608 Wisconsin Ave.

The driving teams come from as far away as New Zealand to participate in the annual event. The cars must be handmade using Honda GX200 engines and draw clear design inspiration from the open wheel race cars from the early 1900s. Participants work on their cars all year, excitedly awaiting the largest gathering of cyclekarts in the world. No two cars are alike, with designs often taking on the personality of its builder. Each one is about 8’ long, weighing between 250 to 300 pounds, with steel chassis and wood or aluminum bodies.

On Thursday, June 20th 2019 we set up the Selah Sweets Food Truck up on Historical North Front Street in Downtown Yakima for the second of ten Downtown Summer Nights events in 2019.

This was a windy cool night but still fun. Live music from Leviticuss kicked off at 6pm followed by LA based Mestizo Beat!

There were delicious beverages from Wandering Hop Brewery, Bale Breaker Brewing Company, Kana Winery, Tieton Cider Works, and Swede Hill Distilling.

This year’s 10-show series will run from June 13th through August 22nd*

Each week features two bands and a bustling beer garden pouring your Yakima Valley craft favorites and outfitted misting tents for those especially hot evenings. For the whole family, an activities area, food from Front Street restaurateurs and plenty of room to kick up your heels right in front of the main stage.

*There will be no Downtown Summer Nights on July 4th, 2019.

On Saturday June 15th 2019, we set up the Selah Sausage Food Truck up at the Rotary Pavilion in Downtown Ellensburg Germanfest. We served Bratwurst (Jahr’s European Sausage), beef Franks, Hot Dogs, and Shaved ice.

This was a very fun event with great food, music, beer, and more. Food by SS Food Truck, Saucey Food Truck, and Lemon Thyme Macarons. Music by Happy Hans. The breweries that took part were; Taneum Creek Brewing, Iron Horse Brewery, Whipsaw Brewing, Dru Bru, Yakima Craft Brewing Co., Icicle Brewing Company, and Wheel Line Cider.

Join the Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce for the 1st Annual Ellensburg Germanfest. Enjoy tasting numerous styles of German beer from local and regional breweries, German food, and many family activities. The event will also feature authentic German style entertainment, well known for their appearances at numerous Oktoberfest’s throughout the region. The event is paired with the annual Dachshunds on Parade, bring your Dachshund and enjoy both events in Downtown Ellensburg.
