On Saturday August 7th 2021 most met up at Graham Family Farm in Selah just before 10 AM. We convoyed to the Yakima River Canyon where Nevada and his Dad joined us. We continued through the Yakima River Canyon and made our way across the Kittitas Valley to the Watts Canyon entrance of the L.T. Murry where we stopped to air down.

After airing down we headed up Hutchins Road. We ran it up and then onto Tamarack Ridge Road. We stopped for a break at Ainsley Canyon Road.

After the break we turned down Ainsley Canyon Road and ran it down to the Robinson Canyon entrance. We turned to go back up on Page Pasture Road. The first climb on Page Pasture Road was steep, narrow, and rocky. Once on top of the ridge we stopped to take in the view.

We headed on up Page Pasture Road. It was real rocky until we got up into the trees. We turn onto Watt Canyon Road and took a break.

Around 10 AM Saturday, July 31st 2021, Eastern Washington Expeditions members met up at the Club House in Selah. We convoyed to Naches and picked up Ed. We continued on up US12 and then up SR410. We turned up the Nile Road and then up FS1500. We turned off onto FS1500-114 and aired down.

After airing down we drove up FS1500-114 to the end on Devils Table. Across the canyon on Bethel Ridge there is a view point of Devils Table looking back at our location. It is one of the stops people doing the Washington Backcountry Discovery Route (WABDR) across Bethel Ridge like to stop at.

Next we backtracked down to FS1500. We turned off on FS1502 and ran it to McDaniel Lake where we took and break.

After a little while we backtracked FS1502 and turned onto the gavel part of FS1500. We drove a ways and then turned up FS1500-190. We took it all the way up to the top of Timberwolf Mountain. The view was not the best due to smoke from the wildfires. After a few photos we headed back down onto FS1500.

We topped Bethel Ridge on FS1500 and then turned up up FS324 (part of the WABDR). We ran it to 4W325 where we stopped for the view of Rimrock Lake. This is another viewpoint stop on the WABDR. Again the view was not great. We were there awhile talking about the normal sights one would normally see on a clear day. A few overland rigs past us there.

We ran FS1500 down passing more overland rigs. We aired up at the cattle guard near US12. We kind of parted ways after airing down other than the ones that went back to the EWE Club House for the Luau.

This was a fun trip.

Gallagher Head Overland Trip

Doc just got his driver license and this trip was for him driving without Mom or Dad in the rig on a long distance drive. The goal was to drive to Cle Elum on 4×4 trails and gravel roads (see report https://cegpics.com/recreation/photos-ewe-nile-to-cle-elum-4×4-trip/), then head to Gallagher Head Lake to camp the night.

On Monday July 26 2021 around 7 PM we started the second part of our trip. We aired down the Historic Salmon La Sac Ranger Station and headed up FS4330. We turned onto 4W301 and ran it to Gallagher Head Lake. It was getting dark about the time we got to the lake. We set up camp and had dinner around the propane campfire.

The next morning after breakfast and camp was packed, we drove up 4W304 to see the view from Hawkins Mountain. The trail was fun getting there.

We headed back down and out 4W301 to FS4330. We ran FS4330 up to Tucquaia Lake and ate lunch. After lunch we head back out on FS4330 and aired back up at he Historic Salmon La Sac Ranger Station. We parted ways from there.
