Eastern Washington Adventures Top Member Challenge Report by Clay Graham. Photos by Clay Graham / Eastern Washington Adventures
On Saturday March 1st, 2014 Eastern Washington Adventures members met up at Curly’s II in Kittitas, Washington for the annual Eastern Washington Adventures Top Member Challenge.
We lined up in Kittitas and headed to Colockum Road for the Eastern Washington Adventures Top Member Challenge. We hit snow low on Colockum Road. The road got slick once we got into the trees. We stopped and to air down before the climb up the ridge.
We aired down and headed up to find a good starting point. There was a few rigs that got stuck on the way up. We started the Eastern Washington Adventures Top Member Challenge on top of the ridge at the first power lines. The challenge was the first one to the Halfway Station Marker or 3PM which ever came first.
We lined up the challenge member rigs. In the front row was; DClack – Early Bronco, Foxracer – TJ, Jeepscum – TJ, TJ40 – TJ. Behind them was Guido – TJ and Icesis – JK. The judge rigs were Ceg & riding with Icesis, AlwayswrenchN – YJ and NickB – Toyota and co-pilot Ruger SR5.
There was a lot of stucks along the way. Only rigs competing could help each other out and being good sports they did. Some rigs got disqualified since the judge rigs helped them out. They still pushed on for the fun.
We hit a deep power snow drift just past the Powerline Road. All the rigs fought the drift. TJ40 was the first to get on top after airing down a few times more. Foxracer was the second rig up but could not reach TJ40 that was far ahead in time. The time was called at 3 PM and the 2014 Eastern Washington Top Member was TJ40.
We all turned around to head back out. It took awhile to get back out since there was a few stucks and DClack popped a tire bead.
Around 7:15 PM we met back up at Curly’s II in Kittitas for dinner.
This was a very fun day thanks to who all came.

This morning I came into Nana Kate’s for breakfast to find out it was Pho Friday. I got to meet the Pho cook, Noley Acob. Noley told me all about Pho and then I had some. Very, very good food. If you get a chance you should go try some Pho. Today and every Friday is Pho Friday at Nana Kate’s 10 AM – 5 PM.
