Thanksgiving 4×4 Snow Run
Report & photos by Clay Graham / Eastern Washington Adventures

On Saturday November 24th, 2012 Eastern Washington Adventures members met up at the Tampico Church for the annual Eastern Washington Adventures Thanksgiving 4×4 Snow Run.

Around 10 AM we convoyed up the South Fork Ahtanum and found a place to pull off to air down. Next we ran the South Fork Road all the way to the end and onto the Sedge Ridge 4×4 Trail. As we climbed the snow got deeper. The hill just before the Duel Climb stopped us. A few tried but could not make it up. As we watched, the Quad Squad came up behind us. They found the snow was also to powdery for them to get though. We all turned around and headed down to the Ahtanum Winter Rec Trailhead (AKA Sno-park).

Next our group headed up Jackass Road. Just before Ewe Neck we found some of our club members were up having a family day sledding. We stopped to talk with them awhile then headed on. The snow was deep in the Ewe Neck area. We made it up to the log decks to find big drifts. It was getting late for the other trails we wanted to run, so we turned around. We stopped to see sledders as we headed back down the mountain toward Nasty Creek Corrals.

At Nasty Creek Corrals TJ40 and BlindPilot aired up for home. The rest of us headed on up Nasty Creek Road and came out on Cowiche Mill Road. We aired up and headed out. We all stopped at the Highland Quick Stop before heading down to US12.
Here are some pictures I took of our day:

Fall ORV Run at Juniper Dunes
Report and photos by Clay Graham / Eastern Washington Adventures

On Friday November 16th, 2012 Eastern Washington Adventures members met up at Smith Canyon to camp out for the Fall ORV Run at Juniper Dunes.

Around 10 AM Saturday November 17th, 2012 more people showed up at Smith Canyon for the ORV run.

We headed toward the dunes by going along the power lines. Out at the open dunes below the Upper Parking Area and few more rigs showed up to run with us. We wheeled to the northeast dunes. As we headed back toward camp people started heading out for home.

Back at our camp in Smith Canyon we had a surprise birthday party for my daughter Mandy that was turning 13 year old the next Tuesday and celebrated my son Hank’s 24th birthday that was on that day.

We had a potluck barbecue and then took shelter under the pop-up since the rain came.

Around 11 AM Sunday November 18th, 2012 a few of us when to play out in the dunes for a few hours. We headed for home around 4 PM.

This was a great camping trip with a lot of ORV fun in the sand.

EWA Halloween Costume Party

Halloween Costume Party
Report & photos by Clay Graham / Eastern Washington Adventures

On Saturday October 27th, 2012 we had the annual Eastern Washington Adventures Halloween Party at the Eastern Washington Adventures Club House in Selah Washington. This year we did not have the 4×4 run as we did the past six years because of bad weather conditions. The turn out for the party was small too but was still a lot of fun.

Most of the guest had Halloween Costumes but a few would not play. The best costume went to the Freddy Krueger couple. Charlie & Erika.

The food was great. Some of the food was scary but taste good.

Here are a few photos of the

Eastern Washington Adventures
Wagons East! Naches Pass Trail 4×4 Run
Report & photos by CegPics.com

The Historic Naches Pass Wagon Trail is one of the most poplar trails in the Northwest. Some years we run this trail a few times during the time the west side is open. We really like to run this trail in the fall after the dust is gone and we do it in the opposite direction of the settlers for more of a challenge climbing the west end.

At 10 AM Saturday October 13th, 2012 Eastern Washington Adventures members met up at intersection of NF19 and FS1914 for the annual “Wagons East! Naches Pass Trail 4×4 Run”. After letting some air out of our tires, we headed across Pyramid Pass with 6 rigs and met up with Mario at the end of the Naches Pass 4×4 Trail on FS70.

We took a hike down to see the cliff where the Longmire Party lowered their wagons down in October 1853. We hiked back up to start the 4×4 part of the run.

We stopped to see the sights along the way as we made our way East on the Naches Pass 4×4 Trail.

At FS1913 a few rigs headed for home and the rest of us finished the tight part of the trail.

Here are some pictures I took of our trip:

2012 Oktoberfest
Hosted by Graham Family Farm
Report & photos by Clay Graham & Doug Palmer / CegPics.com

Each year Graham Family Farm host a Oktoberfest celebration. This event has a potluck with the main dishes being German food and foods made with beer or wine.

For the last three years most of the beer was picked up the Thursday before from the Iron Horse Brewery in Ellensburg using growlers. It is worth the drive for this great beer.

The music by Bob Otto’s Polka Pals on CD.

This event was a lot of fun thanks to who came.
