Pine Mountain New Year 4×4 Snow Run
Hosted by Eastern Washington Off Road & All Wheelers Off Road Club

Report and photos by Clay Graham / CegPics.com

On Thursday January 1st, 2009 we meet up in Tampico for our New Years Run.
This year again BSLM let us come up to his private land on Pine Mountain at the Ahtanum State Forest.

We aired down at Nasty Creek Corrals.

With Roger in the lead with BSLM as co-pilot.

We were not far onto the private land when Roger had to air down even more to get through.

This picture was taken right before I got stuck in Roger’s holes.

Test Dummy pulled my XJ out and got in front of me since his XJ is locked on both ends and taller off the ground.

We had to wait for Roger to plow through the snow drifts.

Test Dummy got stuck in one of the deep drifts and had to winch out.

I made it through with speed. Tiny got stuck in it.

After talking with BSLM, Test Dummy aired down to 2 psi.

The Tampico boys dug Tiny’s XJ out.

I think Test Dummy was able to drive out. He came back to pull my XJ through.

The next area was a lot of fun.
I came very close to smacking a few trees with my 99 XJ as I crab walked along the hill side.
I could not make the turn up the hill so I had to spin the rear down hill so I could hit the climb straight on.
That work well. Will a few runs and RPMs we made it up. Here’s Roger on the top.

The rest of the group took another route to the top.

Newbie 4×4 Snow Wheeling Trip at Ahtanum State Forest
Hosted by Eastern Washington Off Road

Report and photos by Clay Graham / CegPics.com

On Saturday December 27th, 2008 we meet up at the Cowiche Mill DNR parking area.
On the way there I had to stop to take pictures of this dog playing with a squirrel.
PHOTOS > EWOR: Newbie 4×4 Snow Wheeling at Ahtanum State Forest 51

Once we were all at the meeting area, we headed up Cowiche Mill Road.
A little past the end of the county road I had to air down more.
PHOTOS > EWOR: Newbie 4×4 Snow Wheeling at Ahtanum State Forest 52

On up the road we regrouped just past the first Green on the right (road to Hatton Rd)
making sure no one went up it since there were tire tracks coming down it.
PHOTOS > EWOR: Newbie 4×4 Snow Wheeling at Ahtanum State Forest 53

We made new tracks from there.

On up past Reynolds Creek we saw a big herd of elk crossing the road.
I only got one picture because my camera we messing up.
PHOTOS > EWOR: Newbie 4×4 Snow Wheeling at Ahtanum State Forest 54

At the next Green Dot road we took a right toward Jumpoff Tower.
We had to stop and air the Tweety Jeep tires down.
99 has a lead foot and she had problems with the last hill climb.
PHOTOS > EWOR: Newbie 4×4 Snow Wheeling at Ahtanum State Forest 55

Fish had to turn around and go home for some reason.

We headed on. It was hard to see where the trail was.
PHOTOS > EWOR: Newbie 4×4 Snow Wheeling at Ahtanum State Forest 56

The snow drifts got real deep. We moved to the side to let Nevada lead since his truck had tall tires.

On Hatton Road the drifts got deep in spots.

We stopped in the trees where the snow was not so deep so we could take a break.
PHOTOS > EWOR: Newbie 4×4 Snow Wheeling at Ahtanum State Forest 78

On up past the old cabin, I was pushing too much snow to go.
Nevada had to take the lead again.
PHOTOS > EWOR: Newbie 4×4 Snow Wheeling at Ahtanum State Forest 79

We let Nevada get up to the top of the hill before going.
We got some speed since I was still pushing snow with my low rider XJ. 99 kept up with me.

Hosted by Eastern Washington Off Road

Report and photos by Clay Graham / CegPics.com

On Sunday December 14th, 2008 we met up in Cowiche at the Quick Stop for our annual Sledding Run.

This was meant to be an easy run that stock rigs could come on so all the kids could come.

Here are the rigs of the day getting ready to hit the road.
Ceg, Scuba, Foxracer, Victor and BlindPilot.

The first hill climb had slick mud on it so a few rigs had to take a few runs at it.

We stopped to regroup on top.

The climb on up to Blue Slide Lookout was very slick and a lot of fun.
Once on top we ran Jackass Road down to the Doe Pocket Trail.
Down at Nasty Creek Corals three more rigs turned off for home.
The rest of us headed up Nasty Creek Road then up on top of Cowiche Ridge.
We took C-1000 down to Cowiche Mill Road and on out towards our homes.

This was another fun Thanksgiving 12 hour run.

A big thanks goes out to all the people that came and helping get all the rigs through the run and back home. Great team work!
