Halloween in Selah

On Friday October 31st, 2014 the community of Selah, Washington went all out again for Halloween.

The Selah Chamber of Commerce held the 7th annual “Business Trick or Treat”. Many of the businesses participated. Nine Yakima Training Center soldiers volunteered their time to help the trick or treaters safely cross the streets. Business Trick or Treat was from 4 PM to 6 PM.

Harvest Community Church hosted a Community Halloween Party at the Selah Civic Center from 6 PM – 8 PM.

Selah Covenant Church held a “Trunk or Treat” at their church from 5 PM to 8 PM. The Trunk or Treat was held in doors due to the rain earlier in the day.

For the “Business Trick or Treat” I took photos from the Selah Downtown Association booth in from of the Selah Civic Center. I then took a few photos in the Selah Civic Center of the Harvest Community Church’s Halloween Party. I finish off the evening at Selah Covenant Church’s Truck or Treat.

This was a very fun evening thanks to so many.

Business Trick or Treat

Selah Chamber of Commerce “Business Trick or Treat” runs from 4:00 PM and end at 6:00 PM. Businesses that are participating have an orange poster in the window and kids can go into them and get treats. Download Map

On Saturday October 25th, 2014 around 10 AM outdoor enthusiasts met up at the Eastern Washington Adventures Club House in Selah, Washington for the “Halloween Backroads 4×4 Adventure”. We convoyed to the Upper Wenas part of the Wenas Wildlife Area for a backroads run up Cleman Mountain.

We aired down at the Hay barn off North Wenas Road and headed up W1100. At the top of Cleman Mountain we ran the the ridge Southeast to the end of the Green Dot where we stopped for lunch. After lunch we back tracked past where we came up and ran the top of Cleman Mountain Northwest. We continued into the Naches Ranger District onto FS1712 and ran it to FS1701 (Bald Mountain Rd.). We turn up FS1701, took FS1716 and then turn on Hog Ranch Road to go back toward North Wenas Road. We aired up at the parking area off Maloy Road and headed back to the Eastern Washington Adventures Club House. This backroads run was fun. The views were not very good due to the clouds.

Back at the Eastern Washington Adventures Club House we had a potluck and Halloween Party. Some of the kids played in the Haunted House. The Halloween party was a lot of fun

Over all this was a fun event thanks to all who came.

On the evening of Thursday October 23rd, 2014 the Selah Chamber of Commerce had a Business After Hours get together. The event was hosted at and by Selah Covenant Church.

Selah Covenant Church provided light appetizers and espresso. Pastor Brad Hill talked about the history of Selah Covenant Church and gave a tour of the facilities.

The Selah Chamber of Commerce had a 50/50 raffle.

This was a very fun event. Thank you Selah Covenant Church!
