Selah Cub Scout Pack 276 Camp-out
at Ahtanum State Forest

On Friday evening August 8th 2014, Selah Cub Scout Pack 276 met up at Ahtanum Meadows in the Ahtanum State Forest west of Yakima, Washington for a weekend Scout Camp-out and DNR volunteer opportunity.
Saturday the Cub Scouts started off with raising the flag and the Pledge of Allegiance. Breakfast was next and then the trip around the Darland Mountain Loop to sight see and pick up trash.
The Darland Mountain Loop trip took the Cub Scouts through Ahtanum Campground, Tree Phones Campground, Eagle Nest Vista, Darland Mountain, Blue Lake, Snow Cabin Campground and back to Ahtanum Meadows. The highlights were the cliff at Eagle Nest Visit, the view of Mount Hood, Mount Adams, Mount St. Helens, Mount Rainier, the Goat Rocks, and the Yakima Valley from Darland Mountain and the 4×4 Trail to Blue Lake.
Back at camp the Cub Scouts built a campfire to cook their dinners in. Each person made their own tinfoil dinner and the leaders placed them in the hot coals to cook. The Cub Scouts had a corn shucking contest for fun and did skits as dinner cooked. After dinner the Cub Scouts made smores then headed off the sleep in their tents and campers.
Sunday morning the Cub Scouts started off with the flag ceremony and a reading from the Holy Bible. Next there was a pancake breakfast made by the Scout Leaders.
After breakfast most broke down there camps. A few took another trip around the Darland Mountain Loop.
It was a very fun Cub Scout Camp Out.
