Wenas Wildlife Area Dirt bike/Quad Run

On Labor Day morning (Monday September 5th, 2011) we met up at the the Sheep Company Road entrance of the Wenas Wildlife Area for the Eastern Washington Adventures Dirt bike/Quad Run. DJ and Guido rode bikes and I rode my quad.

We ran Durr Road, then Bull Pasture Road, Bell Tel. Road up onto the top of the Umtanum Ridge. We stopped at the Oasis for a short break.

We headed on west up Umtanum Ridge Road. We stopped to get a few pictures a long the way. We dropped into Black Canyon on the west end and made a loop back up to the Umtanum Ridge Road where we took a break for lunch in the shade.

After lunch we took Umtanum Ridge Road back east. At Durr Road DJ headed back to his truck to go home. Guido and I traveled on to the east end of the Umtanum Ridge Green Dot road. We took a break then back tracked to Durr Road.

At Durr Road we headed north and stopped at the Umtanum Creek for a break in the shade. It was very nice to be down in the shade with the sound of running water.

We were feeling beat up from the riding, so after the break we took Durr Road all the way back to the tow rigs. Back at the parking area it was very hot. We loaded up fast and pulled out for home around 3:30 PM.

This was a great ride!

After lunch we took Umtanum Ridge Road back east.

At Durr Road DJ headed back to his truck to go home. Guido and I traveled on to the east on Umtanum Ridge.

It was hot standing around so we hit the trail. It was great weather for riding if you don’t stop. LOL

We were feeling beat up from the riding, so after the break we took Durr Road toward our tow rigs.

Friday Night Get Together at The Rec Room

Friday Night Get Together at The Rec Room

On September 2nd, 2011 we met up at The Rec Room Bar & Grill in the West Valley Area of Yakima, Washington for the Eastern Washington Adventures Get Together. Normally the GT is held on Thursday nights but on this week we did it on Friday so we could watch the “First Funny Friday” comedy show. On this night the comedians were Susan Jones, Bahiyyih Mudd and Lilly Honsinger. We got a special treat because “The Big Funny” also came and gave a great show.

Here are a few pictures of the night.

We got to the Rec Room early so we could get a good seat for the show later that night.

The night just got better and better. The Free Comedy show was great. We hope to do it again soon.

On Saturday August 27th, 2011 we met up at Ahtanum Meadows for the Eastern Washington Adventures Ahtanum Night Run. Test Dummy and I had our quads and Craigen had his XJ.

Craigen decided to stay at camp and eat dinner with his family. Test Dummy and I rode up to Darland Mountain to see the sunset. We got up there just in time to see the great view. It was a nice evening to see Mount Adams, Mount St. Helens and Mount Rainier.

After it got dark I got some pictures of the City of Yakima and then we headed back down the mountain.

The ride to Darland and back was great since it was not cold out. It was a little cold at higher speeds.

I camped over night next to Craigen’s family at Ahtanum Meadows.

Hot Beverly Dunes ORV Camp-out

On Tuesday August 23rd, 2011 we met up at the Beverly Dunes ORV Area for the Eastern Washington Adventures ORV Camp-out. Jeepscum, Test Dummy and I had our quads. Doc rode along with me most of the trip. We had a lot of fun going fast to cool down. You could not stop out on the dunes for very long because of the heat.

A homeless dog came into our camp. Doc gave it some food. We went riding again and Doc wanted to put giant marshmallows in the truck so the dog would not get them. I told him the dog would not want to eat them. When we go back to camp, we found the dog ripped into our trash bag and also stole Doc’s giant marshmallows. Doc was not happy.

Foxracer came later that evening with his Subaru car pulling a trailer with his quad on it. Foxracer aired down his car tires and took a drive out in the dunes. This was a lot of fun to watch. The Subaru did very well. We got back to camp after it was dark. Jeepscum headed home and we relaxed since it had cooled down a lot.

Wednesday morning we ate breakfast and then headed out to play in the dunes. Foxracer took his quad on this run.

In the early afternoon we decided it was too hot to stay. We loaded up and headed out.

On the way home we stopped at Curly’s II in Kittitas for a cold drink. We met “Ron the Parts Guy” there. After a cold one, we headed over to 4WheelingPlus.com to see some of the cool project they were working on then headed on home.

This was a great trip thanks to all the people we hung out with on our adventure.
