On Friday June 30th, 2006 I went up the Tree Phones with the RV pulling my XJ. We set up camp and the others pulled in around 7 PM.

Jacob, Test Dummy, Tiny and Roll Over went riding. They went up the Mid Fork to Darland Mountain and then down to Blue Lake. They had to run the North fork to the McLaine Canyon Road to get back up to Tree Phones because of the snow on the north side of Darland. It was dark the time they got back. Jacob left for home.

The next morning Saturday July 1st Tiny, Flippy, Test Dummy, Roll Over and I (Ceg) headed out to Do the Dew (Quad Run across Divide Ridge and back). We had to cut the run short since Flippy had an appointment.

When we were out riding, Fatboy came and set up camp. We all went up the Darland Mountain and watched the sunset.

The next morning (Sunday June 2nd) we headed up toward Blue Lake. Tiny and Test Dummy were on quads. Fatboy and I were in our Jeeps. We ran Foundation Ridge and then Whites Ridge to Tree Phones for the night.

Monday Tiny and Test Dummy took a short ride before we headed home.

A hot Day in the Ahtanum
Hosted by Eastern Washington Off Road
Report & photos by Clay Graham / CegPics.com

On Sunday June 25th, 2006 it was hot in the Yakima Valley so we went up to the Ahtanum to cool down. We made our way up to Blue Lake (6,300′ ft) to cool down, but it was hot up there too. My very pregnant wife Lisa was very hot and miserable. I got a photo of her barefoot and pregnant standing in the snow. She wasn’t happy about that but it did make a fun photo. 🙂

We took our time and slowly made our way back down to the valley. It was a good day.

Father’s Day Manastash Ridge 4×4 Run
Hosted by Eastern Washington Off Road
Report & photos by Clay Graham / CegPics.com

On Friday June 16th, 2006, we went up to Saw Mill Flats at the Nile off of FS1601 in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, Naches Ranger District to camp the weekend and run the 4×4 trails on Manastash Ridge. People came from all over Eastern Washington.

Saturday morning we headed up FS1701 to the top of Manastash Ridge and ran 4W694 to Funny Rocks. Playing on Funny Rocks a Toyota lost a tire off of the rim and had another flat. Next we ran 4W695 to play at Moon Rocks for awhile. After Moon Rocks we ran 4W695 back to 4W694 then 4W685 down to FS1708. The end of the trail to FS1708 was mudded real bad. It was very hard to get out to the road. One everyone got through the mud, we ran FS1708 to SR410 and back to the Nile to camp off FS1601.

On Sunday a few of us ran up to Little Bald Mountain and then toward Clover Springs in the snow. Once the snow got to bad we went bad down the mountain and explored some side roads around the area.

This was a very fun trip.

Ahtanum 4×4 Tour

On Friday June 9th, 2006, we headed up to Tree Phones at Ahtanum camp for the weekend and to give a 4×4 trail tour to some that had never been there.

On Saturday morning there was a good turnout of rigs for the run. We first ran Whites Ridge 4×4 Trail and then Sedge Ridge 4×4 Trail. After playing on the Rocky Climb, some of the group headed home. The rest went on up Sedge Ridge into the snow, then followed Sedge Ridge the other direction to take in the views over Tampico.

That night with only 3 Jeeps left, we went night snow wheeling on Whites Ridge late into the night. That was a blast!

Sunday morning we did a short run up to Eagle Nest and then headed for home.

This was a good weekend wheeling and meeting new people.

On Saturday June 3rd, 2006, we headed up to the Ahtanum to run the Strobach 4×4 Trail to Strobach Mountain for the view of Rimrock.

Once on the trail stuff started to happen to the rigs. To sum it up fast; Waycrazy’s CJ5 overheated, had an electric issue and broke a rear u-joint where he had to drive it out in front wheel drive with welded front gears. Test Dummy broke out a rear side window, got some dents and had a flat. I came very close to putting a hole in the sidewall of the front drivers tire with a tab root of a down tree. Lucky my new MTRs have 3 ply sidewalls.
