A little history about Eastern Washington Adventures

The web site host club was started 10 years ago from the 2004 Memorial Day ORV Camp-out. The name started as the “All Wheelers Off Road Club”. It started with a MSN Group page under that name. The goal was to meet others to do outdoor trips with.

December 2005 cegranch.com was started from our ranch in West Valley, Yakima, Washington and added a forum under a partner club call “WUD Wheelers” since we needed more 4×4 rigs in our group. AWORC had mostly quads.

A few months later forum members voted to changed the forum name so both clubs could grow and non club guys would join the forum. The forum became “Eastern Washington Off Road”.

In May of 2005 we partnered up with the Department of Natural Resources to help keep public lands open. The Spring of 2007 we co-hosted the Beverly Dunes Clean-up and have been hosting it ever since. July 2007 we started hosting the Ahtanum State Forest Clean Up which we still do every year with a week long camp-out for trail maintenance.

Sometime in 2007 the web site had server problems and had to move. The old server company would not release the cegranch.com url at that time so we started aworc.com. 4wheelingplus.com became our server sponsor and hosted the site until the summer of 2013. Pegasus Northwest Inc. took over the server sponsorship.

The WUD Wheelers Club members dropped off the website over the years and were all gone by 2007. We don’t know what happened to them.

March of 2008 we partnered up with the Yakima Valley Dust Dodgers Motorcycle Club to co-host a clean up at the Slab ORV area. We still do this event every year.

September 2008 we started what is now call the Forest Watch Volunteer Program. It started from watching people mud a meadow after we asked them to get back in the trail.

A few years ago we renamed the “Club”, the new improved “forum” with “web site” and “url” to be the same as each other. Since the members expanded into more than just ORV activities, the new name became “Eastern Washington Adventures”.

Over the years people have came and left. We had at one time over 50 family memberships within the “Club” and many more “Forum” members. Some members left because they got out of doing outdoor adventures and a few bad apples were asked to leave. There are some of the founding club members still active and some others that have been with us a long time. We have a few new “Club” and “forum” members too.

So with that said, we needed to have a celebration on Memorial Day Weekend since it had been 10 years since it all started.

On Saturday May 24th, 2014 the Eastern Washington Adventures 10 Year Anniversary Celebration began at the EWA Club House in Selah, Washington. We had a weekend of fun like 4×4 adventures, sightseeing, trail runs, meet & greet, potluck, RTI ramp, camping, games & other family type fun.
