Report & photos by Clay Graham / CegPics.com
On Thursday, June 19th 2021, Eastern Washington Expeditions headed up to the Naneum Ridge State Forest to set up for the weekend. Friday two more members showed up.
Saturday we had a good breakfast for the EWE Chuckwagon. At 10 A< we headed out to do the Naneum State Forest backroads trip. We took Dawson Canyon up, headed west on Boulder Road, over the Naneum Creek, around the High Creek Loop, back over the Naneum Creek, up Naneum Creek to Naneum Basin for a break. Shelby our Black Lab enjoyed playing in the creek.
Next we down Naneum Creek, turned up Swift Creek Road, turn up toward Wenatchee Mountain, and ran Naneum Ridge northwest until the snow drifts stopped us. We may have been able to go father over the snow, but we did not want to press our luck. We turn around and stopped at a view point for a break.
After the break we back tracked to Swift Creek Road, headed east on Swift Creek Road, turned down Coleman Creek Road and stopped from lunch at the creek.
Next we headed on down Coleman Road, turned up East Fork Road and run it to End Of Green Dot. We turned around and headed down, turned on Rue Road, turned on Tyee Road, down Cooke Canyon Road, up Coleman Road, and up Dawson Canyon to camp.
Back at camp we had a great meal from the EWE Chuckwagon.
