Continuation from Day 1 of 4.

Tuesday July 12th 2022 we woke up to a beautiful day at Lion Rock Campground. Waking up in the Jeep to see a different view every morning is awesome. We cooked breakfast and then packed up camp.

We drove back up to Lion Rock to see the morning view and then headed north on FS35. We took FS9712 east at the T. We stopped for a break at a pull off that you could see Mission Peak and the Naneum State Forest.

After the break we continued on FS9712 east. We crossed what WABDR travelers call the “Washouts”. It would be rated “Easy” if it was a 4×4 trail. It could challenging for a low ground clearance vehicle or one that was top heavy.

We drove on from the “Washouts” and then stopped for lunch right off of FS9712 on FS71 which is gated closed.

After lunch we headed on down FS9712 past Beehive Reservoir and aired up at Mission Ridge Road.

We decided to skip the rest of WABDR Section 3 and go into Wenatchee for supplies and fuel since we still had two more days left on the trail.. Safeway had all our needs.

We hit the hiway to get back to the Liberty Area. At the top of Blewett Pass, we turned off on FS9716 and aired back down. 10 PSI makes a smooth ride.

We ran FS9716 up and found a great camp spot along FS9712. We set up camp and made dinner.

After dinner Odo made up some baggies of ice cream mix for everyone to make their own ice cream. We sat around camp working the ice cream mix with ice and rock salt around it. It turned out good.
