The Eastern Washington Off Road Douglas Creek/Naneum Overland Trip is full size 4×4 friendly. This trip runs from Vantage off I-90, up through Douglas Creek, through the Naneum Ridge State Forest, and back to I-90 in Kittitas. A few stops sightseeing stops along the way. We will be running a lot of pavement and some rough backroads with creek crossings with stops to see the views. High ground clearance vehicles recommended.

We will be covering a lot of ground stopping at places along the way. We will camp at Douglas Creek and then in the Naneum State Forest. Here are the plan stops:

  • Frenchman Cooley
  • Quincy Lakes
  • Douglas Creek
  • Naneum State Forest

This is free event but space is limited and it is on a first-sign up basis. Everyone must sign up in advance. All guest must be approved. Do not just show up.
(If you get upset easily over peoples opinions, this event may not be for you.)

MEETING LOCATION: Graham Family Farm and then Vantage.

DATE: Monday June 2 2025 through June 4 2025

TIME: The convoy leaves about 10 AM from Graham Family Farm in Selah. Be early.

FEES:
This a Free to attend event. You will need to bring your own rig, gear, and food. You will need money for fuel and maybe cash for campsites fees. A Discover Pass is required at some stops.

REQUIREMENTS: You must have a working Street licensed 4 wheel drive to do this trip. (Some roads are rough and some places may have low hanging branches. Not recommend for tall heavy truck campers.) Please have a full tank of fuel, recovery gear, and cold weather gear. Bring plenty of water and things you need to be safe from the sun. Bring a sack type lunch since we may not stop very long at places along the way. (A Discover Pass is required.)
NOTE: By signing up you are expected to follow the rules of the land and Tread Lightly. The roads/Trails can get soft this time of year. Spinning your tires intentionally on wet surfaces causes damage and is illegal. These actions have caused closures.

COMMS: CB #7, GMRS #7

FUEL: Please have a full tank of fuel to start with. We will refuel in Wenatchee if needed.

FOOD: Bring enough food for the whole trip. We will only stop if we need fuel.

CAMPING: Bring what you would need to camp in the desert and the forest. It could be very hot in the day and cold at night.

PLANNED ROUTE:
This is the planned route but could change if we find other things to do along the way. Monday: Vantage to Frenchman Cooley, to Quincy Lakes, Douglas Creek to camp.  Tuesday: Douglas Creek through Alstown, Rock Island Grade, Naneum Ridge State Forest, and back to I-90 in Kittitas.
