Continuation from Day 2 of 4.

Wednesday July 13th 2022 we woke up to a cloudy sky but it cleared up a lot before we left. We made breakfast, loaded up and headed for the Hole in a Rock 4×4 Trail.

We drove up to go down the “Hole in a Rock Trail” 4W334. This was a fun trail. Maybe we will take it the other way next time for the challenge.

We head down through the Town of Liberty. We stopped at the Liberty Campground to air up and have lunch.

After lunch in Liberty we drove to Cle Elum. We stopped at Warrior’s Quick Stop to topped off our fuel tanks and get more supplies to camp another night.

From Cle Elum we drove through Roslyn, through Ronald, past Cle Elum Lake, and stopped at the 1900s Railroad Depot to air down.

It was a nice drive up the Cle Elum River to the trail.

We took the Fortune Creek 4×4 Trail 4W301 up. We came across a FJ Cruiser that was lost and then two friendly hikers coming down the trail.

This is where we planned to camp the night, Gallagher Head Lake. We lucked out to get the leveler campsites.

It was nice and warm setting up camp. Sev put up his tent near a snow bank. My new sleeping pad by Sleepingo worked well in the Jeep in my old sleeping bag I use as a pad.

Odo cooked us up some Reuben Sandwiches for dinner.

As the sun went down it got cold and the wind picked up. We brought the pop-up just for this reason. Two years ago we had the same thing happened there and ever since have been packing the pop-up everywhere we overland. We spend the night talking around the propane campfire in the pop-up. I went to bed in my warm Jeep around 1 AM. What a great night with friends.
