Yakima Downtown Summer Nights
Report and photos by Clay Graham / CegPics.com
On Thursday, June 15th we set up the Selah Sweets vendor trailer up on Historical North Front Street in Yakima for the first of 10 Downtown Summer Nights events in 2017.
The weather was not that great. It was warm, but it was raining when we got there and then the wind picked. Everyone seemed to had a good time anyways.
Yakima’s Entice the Mice followed by Portland’s Scott Pemberton Band played on the Downtown Summer Nights stage.
The kids really got a kick out of the Stormtroopers walking down Front Street.
Great music and good times!

The free shows, presented by Stewart Subaru and Downtown Association of Yakima, run every Thursday through August from 5:30-9 p.m. on North Front Street between Yakima Avenue and Staff Sgt. Pendleton Way. Chinook Fest powers the music, Legends Casino Hotel sponsors the stage and Virginia Mason Memorial provides a cooling station (not that anybody needed one last night) complete with a misting tent.
Meantime, Regional Health hosts an interactive, safe and fun kids area, and MOD Pizza — with help from Arts on the Move — oversees all of the weekly activities. U.S. Cellular supplies the cellphone charging stations.
