2013 Eastern Washington Adventures Spring Fling

Every year in April we have a get together for the Eastern Washington Adventure members and their families. This year we opened the event up to the public. We added a yard sale and the Forest Watch Raffle before the main event.

On Friday April 5th, 2013 people came and set up camp for the weekend at the Eastern Washington Adventures Club House. We had a short meeting and then a fun get together.

Saturday at around 8:30 AM vendors setup their booths and we put the coffee on. At 3 PM we shut down the Yard Sale and started the Forest Watch Raffle drawing. After the raffle we had a potluck dinner, Doc’s birthday and a get together.

Early Sunday morning it rained hard. We had coffee in the Club House and then worked on getting the trucks and trailers through the new mud areas.

This was another fun EWA Spring Fling thanks to all who came out.

A bicycle ride on the Yakima Greenway out of Selah

On Easter Sunday March 31st, 2013 we took a bicycle ride down the Yakima Greenway. This was a very fun ride. Below are a few pictures:

The turn around are of the day was at Sunrise Rotary Park/McGuire Community Playground. We let the kids play some before heading back.

Eastern Washington Adventures Thursday Night Get Together

Around 6:30 PM Thursday March 21st, 2013 Eastern Washington Adventures members met up at Snipes Mountain Microbrewery & Restaurant in Sunnyside Washington for a Thursday Night Get Together.

Below are a few pictures of the great time we had at Snipes Mountain Microbrewery & Restaurant:

Rangerat & I started off with a sampler each waiting for the others to show.

Guido and TJ40 showed up a few minutes later. We ordered dinner.

We talked about doing a Oregon Sand Dune ORV camp out this summer.

TJ40 telling us this trophy will be his next year.

After dinner we went out to see TJ40’s new electric car.

Eastern Washington Adventures Club House Work Party

Every year we try to improve the EWA Club House Grounds for the events our club holds. It has been a long process due to time and money. We have an annual work weekend in March of each year to get ready the season. We had a tractor we were doing work with until the transmission went out. The last two years we rented a skid-steer from Wenas Feed to move dirt to the Biergarten, the pool area and driveways.

On Friday March 15th, 2013 Eastern Washington Adventures Club members started the annual EWA Club House work party and worked through Sunday. Saturday Night we had a St. Patrick’s Day potluck dinner.

Members took turns working the skid-steer and packing the dirt with Jeeps. Other members worked on the Club House building adding drywall.

We got a lot done thanks to all who came and helped.

After the weekend work:

There now is enough room to add the fence on top of the hill.

We still need more dirt for the restroom building.

We have some leveling by hand to do.

The sledding hill got taller and steeper. I wonder if the kids will hit the fence next winter.

There is more work to do when we get more time and money. Until then we will have fun with what we have.
