Thursday Night Get Together at Brats N’ Brews

On Thursday December 30th, 2010 I drove to the West Valley part of Yakima Washington to meet the others for the Eastern Washington Off Road Thursday Night Get Together at Brats N’ Brews. Here are a few pictures of our time there.
This GT it was only Craigen, BlindPilot, Havo, Havo Jr, Test Dummy, Sparky, Colemancooler and myself.
Brats ‘N’ Brews has many different beers to choose from. I always try to order beer I have never had before to get them I try.
On this day I went with Ranger IPA. It was a very flavorful beer. I say it is a good IPA.
The food is very good at Brats N’ Brews. I ordered a bratwurst with chips and enjoyed the meal.

It was very cold out. Test Dummy happen to have some tape so BlindPilot made a plastic window since he broke the glass earlier.
We all had a great time at Brats N’ Brews.
Brats N’ Brews has a good atmosphere, great food and a lot of different beers to try!

Wenas Wildlife Area Snow Wheeling

On Thursday December 30th, 2010 we met up with three rigs at the Sheep Company Road entrance of the Wenas Wildlife Area for some snow wheeling. The drivers on this day were Havo in his Toyota, BlindPilot in his TJ and myself “Ceg” in my CJ5. Havo was our trail boss on the run. We made it up to the towers and back down through some deep snow drifts and icy roads. A long the way we saw a few herds of elk and some of the guys saw a coyote. The sky was blue so we had a great view of the valleys and the mountains. Both Mt. Rainier and Mt. Adams could be seen.
Two of the three rigs had some mechanical failure but were able to drive back home on their own. My CJ5’s tranny started a loud noise as I was in third gear low range. I pushed in the clutch and the noise was gone. I started back off in first gear and found it was loud too. I hit second and all was good. I tried to go into third and could not get it into gear. It would just grind. On the way down Havo lost an u-joint cap on his Toyota. Havo had to run 2 wheel drive on out.
I would say this was the best wheelin’ I ever done at the Wenas Wildlife Area. The snow was great, my kids had fun and some good friends were there to share the adventure.
Later that night we met at Brats N’ Brews in West Valley to talk about our day over food and a few brews.

Leavenworth Christmas Lighting Festival

On Sunday December 19, 2010 Eastern Washington Adventures members met up at the München Haus in Leavenworth Washington for the last day of the 2010 Christmas Lighting Festival.
The day was a lot of fun thanks to the people of Leavenworth that put so much work into making the Christmas Lighting Festival happen. We want to thank all the people that came out to this Eastern Washington Adventures get together.

Below are the pictures of our Leavenworth Adventure.
It had snowed pretty good around where we live in Selah Washington the day before.
The pass reports looked good on this day so we fueled up and headed to Leavenworth.
The traffic slowed coming across Blewett Pass because of all the road smut being kicked up.
We got to Leavenworth just before 1 PM. We parked in a $10 a day parking area next to the Adventure Inn and headed to meet the others.
The München Haus has a great family atmosphere, great food and beer so this was the place to have lunch to start our Leavenworth Adventure.
We all sat in the München Haus’s heated outdoor courtyard.

My family all had the Big “BOB” Bratwurst. The kids had soda as my wife and I enjoyed a Pilsner.

After lunch we headed out the back door.
We ran into Santa so we had to get a family picture with the old guy.
Here is a guy my youngest son “Odo” wants nothing to do with.
The kids played some on the sledding hills.

It sure is nice they have these fireplaces out on the street.
Pretzels make good Christmas ornaments too!
There are many cool shops to see.
A Reindeer got loose.
We headed back to the rig to warm up and have some hot cocoa.
We got back just in time for the Christmas Lighting Ceremony.
As we sang Silent Night the stars came from each side of town.
As they walked in front of each building, the Christmas Lights came on.
Then came the count down to light up the trees in the park. Click picture to see video.
