Continuation from Day 3 of 4.
Thursday July 14th 2022 we woke up to a beautiful warm sunny morning at Gallagher Head Lake. We made breakfast and then packed up camp leaving it better than we found it.
We headed back down 4W301 from Gallagher Head Lake and then turned up 4W302 Van Epps Pass. This trail was full of big rocks. We then took 4W303 Van Epps Loop.
We regrouped at the top of Van Epps Pass then headed down the north side. Right off we found a patch of snow. I tried to cross it but the snow patch was off camber and pushing the Jeep off the cliff. I could see farther down the trail there was a lot more of these patches. I backed out as the front of the Jeep kept sliding to the edge. We finally had all four tires back on the dirt and back up the hill. At the top we took a group photo and then took a lunch break in a campsite. We ran into the two friendly hikers we saw the day before.
After lunch we headed back down from Van Epps Pass. We took 4W302 down this time.
From 4W301 Fortune Creek we headed back down the Cle Elum River and stopped at the 1900s Railroad Depot to air up. From there we parted ways. Odo drove us. We backed to Cle Elum and hit I-90. We turned off at the Canyon Road to drive back to the EWE Club House in Selah. This was a great trip.
